Savory Delights

La Tasqueta de Blai

Get a delicious taste of local cuisine with some pintxos! Pintxos are a slice of bread topped with all kinds of delicious additions, from the traditional jamón ibérico to various types of seafood like crab and shrimp. And the price can’t be beat! Depending on the pintxo, one unit costs either 1€ or 1.80€, so you can order 5 for 5€! Or get a couple and wash it down with a refreshing caña or cava.

Pizza Circus

Large slices of pizza with fresh, quality ingredients at a friendly price (2.50€)! There are tons of different varieties available, including vegetarian options, and they are created in true Italian style with a thin, crispy crust.

Senyor Vermut

You can’t visit Barcelona without trying some authentic tapas! This is a locals’ bar, which means it is almost always crowded and often standing-space only. However, don’t let that dissuade you – they have a wide variety of tapas to satisfy every taste, and most of them are under 5€ each! Pair it with their house vermut, a typical drink made from wine and infused with spices.

Bacoa Burger

Although their burgers are a bit over 5€, their Bravas Brutales (4.50€) are definitely worth the visit! They are rustic potatoes topped with Catalan Sausage, homemade relish, and roast garlic aioli. Absolutely to die for! If you want something a bit simpler, order the plain rustic potatoes (3.10€) and top it with some of their other homemade sauces! An added plus – there are locations all over Barcelona, so you can stop by no matter where you’re exploring!

Spaghetti a la Guitarra

Fresh pasta topped with an array of homemade toppings and sauces, all starting at 2.50€ a serving! Super casual locale where you can fill up on your carbs to keep your energy up for continued exploration of the city! There is very limited space to eat inside, so take it to go and enjoy it in one of Barcelona’s many beautiful plazas.

Bo de B

Near the Port, you’ll find this charming little sandwich shop, which offers everything from sandwiches to mixed plates. The sandwiches are healthy and will only set you back 4€ (4.50€ with cheese), and you can top them with as many fresh ingredients and sauces as you want. You can expect a line at all times of day or night, but it is worth the wait! Take it to-go and find a bench near the Port to enjoy it.

No matter your guilty pleasure, Chök has got you covered! From mouth-watering Cronuts (a cross between a croissant and a donut) to chocolate covered potato chips, you are sure to leave with a big smile on your face!

Xurrería Manuel San Román

Do not miss these churros, freshly done right in front of you! You can get them stuffed with nutella, caramel, or cream, or plain with a chocolate sauce to dip it in. Only 2€ each and located in the heart of Barcelona. Take them to go, and find yourself a lovely place to enjoy them outside, enjoying the warm Spanish sun!

Pastelería Hofmann

Located in the center of El Born, just a short walk from the Santa Maria del Mar Cathedral, you will find this little gem of a café. If you think croissants are nothing special, you clearly haven’t tried one here. Opt for the mascarpone-filled croissant and you will not be disappointed! Or if you prefer something a little more fruity, they also have a mango-filled croissant. Pair it with a café con leche and you’ll be filled with energy to continue your adventures through Barcelona.

Sante Gelato

Need a little rest and some shade after a long day of wandering the historic streets? Stop by this little cafe in Gracia, and your tastebuds will thank you! High-quality gelato with many flavors to choose from, or you can mix it up and go for a milkshake or a slice of cake. Whatever you choose to indulge in, you can rest assured that it is one of the best dessert places in all of Barcelona.

Mercat La Boqueria

When you’re in Barcelona, it is pretty much obligatory to go and explore La Boqueria along La Rambla. Although there are tons of people, there is also a lot to see and discover. Treat yourself and pick up a juice from one of the many vendors there (it’ll only set you back about 1€). They have a unique flavor for every taste! You can also get small samples of all sorts of other delectable bites, like a cone of jamón, olives, or cheeses.

Orxateria-Torroneria Sirvent

During the summer months, try something new and refreshing – order some fresh Horchata! Unlike the Mexican version, this traditional horchata is made from Tiger Nuts, and has a slightly sweet flavor. Definitely worth a taste! They also have fantastic ice cream if you want to stay in your comfort zone.

And to help you find your way around, here you can find an interactive map with all of these locations in one convenient place:

Have you been to any of these places in Barcelona? What is your favorite snack in this beautiful city? Which of these are you most looking forward to trying?
