When booking a tour, there are always some unanswered questions, hopefully we can answer them here but if you have any other additional queries then please do not hesitate to contact us.
All tours must be booked in advance through our website. Upon confirmation by Eye On Food Tours, you will receive a voucher by email for your participation with the correct amount to pay and possible payment methods. Please go to Book Now in order to see available dates and reserve your tour. We cannot wait to show you around and give you a taste of this beautiful city!
If it fits in with your schedule, we believe that it is best to take the tour at the beginning of your trip. After the tour, you will feel more confident in getting around the city and you will know how to spot the authentic restaurants, ensuring that you will have the best possible experience in Barcelona. However, anytime is a good time to take an Eye On Food Tour and really delve into the Catalan culture!
Our cancellation policy is as follows: Before purchasing tickets, carefully review your event details, as all sales are 100% non-refundable. In certain cases we will be able to start a request process with our ticketing partner in order to exchange your tickets for another date.
Our booking system, provided by EzTix, is secure and safe for all credit card transactions
All bookings must be made in advance. Ideally, we advise you to book at least 2 weeks in advance. We of course welcome last minute bookings, but spaces are subject to availability. If planning on short notice, please email with the date that you would like to have the tour on and we will add you to our waiting list. If a spot becomes available, we will notify you via email.
We run tours with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 12. This allows us to get into small local bars and restaurants, as well as offer you a more personalized experience. Please contact us if you would like more information regarding bookings for larger groups or private tours.
Even if don’t promote private tours, we can offer you a private experience with any of our tours for your family, group of friends, business travels, etc with a minimum required number of 8 people. For more information or to book any of our tours, please contact us at email@example.com or call us at 34 930 15 08 13.
It is best to plan on arriving 10-15 minutes before the tour begins
Usually, our tours end at different locations than where they began. Please see each individual tour for details
Your local foodie guide will be waiting at the tour meeting point 10-15 minutes before your tour start time. They will be holding up a sign that says “Eye On Food Tours” and will also have a nametag or T-shirt with our company name, along with the name of the guide
Our tours start on time and each of the restaurants and food establishments that we visit will expect us to arrive at a set time. When you book a tour, you will receive an email confirmation from us with the meeting details for that tour. If you are running out late to your tour, please communicate with us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 34 930 150 813 and we will do our best to catch you up with the group (though at this point we cannot guarantee you’ll be able to meet up with the group)
Please wear casual clothing and, most importantly, comfortable shoes. Depending on the time of year you might want to bring protective clothing for wind and/or rain. We encourage you to bring water and sunscreen with you, especially during the summer months. Please check the weather conditions at the time of your tour
Our “Barcelona, Love at First Taste” tour is suitable for kids of all ages. It is a great opportunity to introduce your children to different places and tastes. Just keep in mind that we will be walking and talking for a few hours, and not all kids have the same attention span. We encourage parents to consider whether the tour is appropriate for their child.
For kids under 5 years of age, we recommend that you bring your own food and snacks for your child’s personal tastes and needs. Therefore, we will not charge for children under 5
Most places allow strollers inside their establishments, but some old bars and restaurants are simply too small to accommodate them. Please let us know in advance before you bring a stroller on your tour so that we can notify when doing the reservations.
Please be aware that some metro stations do not have elevators. For a map on the metro stations with accessibility, go here: https://www.mapametrobarcelona.com/mapas-metro/mapa-metro-barcelona-accesibilidad-2019.pdf
Most places allow wheelchairs and walkers inside their establishments. Just know that some old bars and restaurants are too small and as such, their space is limited. If you or someone in your group is handicapped, please let us know in the comments when you book any of our tours so that we can make sure to accommodate you.
Yes, bathrooms are available during the tours at selected food-tasting locations
We love our furry friends, however some of the establishments we visit do not allow dogs. We recommend to contact us in advance in case you need to come along with your dog. We will work on finding the best solution for you.
Are tours still held in bad weather?
You are in luck! Regardless of rain or snow, our tours will be conducted as scheduled. We recommend that you check the weather forecast before the tour so that you can dress appropriately or take an umbrella or poncho if necessary. Thankfully, Barcelona is known for its fantastic weather, so it shouldn’t be an issue!
Absolutely not! Our tours combine historical facts and local culture along with culinary insights into a unique walking experience through old Barcelona neighborhoods, small streets and alleyways. You will learn a lot about eating our locally made traditional food!
We kindly ask that you wait to shop until after the tour, unless your guide informs you about some free time to buy some local products or souvenirs. If you see a shop that you’d like to return to, feel free to ask your guide and they would be happy to give you directions there after the tour has ended
We strongly encourage you to bring it! You are guaranteed to have a fun and memorable experience on our tour. We would love you to take photos or videos to help you create lasting memories. And we would love it if you would share your experience with us by tagging any pictures with our social media accounts!
While extending gratuities is not mandatory, if you enjoyed your tour and feel that you received great service from your guide, it is customary (and much appreciated) to leave a tip at the end of the tour. The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10-15%
Within a short time of beginning the tour, we will begin tasting some of Barcelona’s best food, so it isn’t necessary to eat beforehand. Nevertheless, if you need to eat before a tour, we recommend keeping it to a light snack so that you can enjoy all Barcelona has to offer.
Most guests comment that by the end of the tour they feel full, but this can vary from person to person
Our tours may include Cava, wine, beer, and vermouth to accompany some of our tastings. If you cannot or do not want to try any alcoholic beverages, let us know when you book your tour and we will serve you non-alcoholic drinks instead
Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has any dietary restrictions or food allergies. Before you purchase your ticket, please make sure to read the details of each tour carefully. While not all food preferences/requirements can be accommodated, we strive to adjust our tours appropriately to your needs. Contact us if you have any other enquiries
There are other non-alcoholic beverages on our tours. You can choose to have mineral water, soda, coffee, and teas, amongst others
